The team at AFA STATION has their own rundown of the top five stage events they are looking forward to during the massive two-day stream!
“So I’m a Spider, So What?”
While a number of anime fans may be sick of the isekai genre, the novel and this anime adaptation actually take plenty of the popular tropes and turn them on their heads. Featuring an amazing cast that includes Aoi Yuki, Shun Horie, Nao Toyama, Yui Ogura, Eri Kitamura, and Kaya Okuno — they’re certainly asking the right questions, like what’s so bad about being a spider anyway?!
“Mushoku Tensei”
If you’ve seen that meme going around about choosing to live life all over again but with your current adult knowledge or fast forward to old age but with a lot of money in the bank, then we all know what Rudy chose. Find out more about his new life from the anime adaptation of the hit light novel series — renowned as the first isekai-style novel that launched an entire genre.
“HORIMIYA”
“Hori-san to Miyamura-kun” — better known to fans as “HORIMIYA”, follows the story of bubbly and popular Kyoko Hori and sad and introverted Izumi Miyamura. When the discover each other’s real personalities that they conceal from others, they help each maintain their secrets from the rest of the class, and *gasp* even fall in love.
“That Time I was Reincarnated as a Slime S2”
Here’s question: would you rather be reborn as a: a) spider; b) boy; or c) slime? Yeah, we picked slime too! Follow the further adventures of slime extraordinaire Rimuru Tempest as he seeks to free an imprisoned dragon, avenge a dead heroine, and build a town free from prejudice — but not necessarily in that order.
“Attack on Titan” The Final Season
The final and most highly anticipated season of the TV adaptation will be treating fans to one last AnimeJapan stage with the cast Yuki Kaji, Yui Ishikawa, Marina Inoue, Hiroshi Kamiya, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Natsuki Hanae, and Ayane Sakura. This stage will be bittersweet but we’re looking forward to it nonetheless!
In partnership with Anime Festival Asia (AFA) — Southeast Asia’s largest J-POP cultural event, a special AnimeJapan channel for overseas anime fans will also be introducing programs streamed on the AJ Stage live in English. The commentary will be delivered live by some of your favourite AFA emcees and staff while switching through different programs streamed on the AJ Stages. Check them out below!
