A theatrical feature-length adaptation of the TV anime “Bakuten!!” has been announced. The announcement was made has been announced right after the current season finished airing last 24th June. “Bakuten!!” starred Shimba Tsuchiya, Kaito Ishikawa, Daisuke Ono, Takashi Kondo, Hiro Shimono, Hiroshi Kamiya, Ayumu Murase, Katsuyuki Konishi, Kenichi Suzumura, and Tomokazu Sugita.
“Bakuten!!” centres on the story of Shotaro Futaba, who enrolled at the Ao High School in Iwanuma City, Miyagi Prefecture to join the school’s boys gymnastics team. Together with his classmate Ryoya Misato, a talented high school rhythmic gymnastics athlete who is famous in the sport, they and their upperclassmen strive to go far as a team.
“Bakuten!!” is one of three anime projects part of the larger “Zutto Oen Project 2011 + 10…” aimed at promoting Miyagi, Iwate, and Fukushima prefectures, which were devastated in the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
