Via Comic Natalie: the English editions of Junji Ito’s “Remina” and “Venus in the Blind Spot” have won in two categories in this year’s Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards. The two titles won the Best U.S. Edition of International Material and the Best Writer/Artist categories, respectively.
He previously won the Best Adaptation from Another Medium category in the 2019 Eisner Awards for “Frankenstein: Junji Ito Story Collection”.
In related news, the TV anime adaptation of his other work “UZUMAKI” has dropped the opening sequence of its first episode on YouTube. Animated by Production I.G., the four-episode “UZUMAKI” will air in the United States before it even does in Japan, on Toonami’s Adult Swim programming block.
